A gorgeous sprawling green grass lawn reaches from the Hideaway to the sandy shore, providing plentiful room for children to play or for a game of croquet or volleyball. The sandy shore in front of Moana Hideaway is sheltered by an ancient off-shore reef. The ocean gently laps along the shoreline, providing a terrific lagoon like area for young children to play and swim in the warm shallow water. If you are seeking a postcard perfect broad white sand swimming beach with sandy bottom, simply hop in the car and in less than a few minutes you have a choice of no less than a dozen different sandy beaches to choose from. Most all feature adequate free parking, restrooms, showers, picnic tables and some are staffed with lifeguards.
Moana Hideaway is located in Kihei on the beach side of a quiet single lane residential street. The home is set back off the residential lane, therefore the ambiance of the property is serene, tranquil, relaxing, and truly a dreamy Hawaiian hideaway. The property is decorated with lovely flowering and fragrant tropical plants and plumeria (frangipani) trees. Tropical song birds also make it their home. A large wooden deck on the ocean side of the house flows into a spacious manicured grass lawn which touches the edge of the ocean. A secluded side yard provides a hidden corner perfect for tanning without lines. Moana Hideaway is adorable, comfortable and lovingly appointed. This is a quintessential vintage Hawaiian beach home. In other words, this is older construction. Every effort has been made to provide better quality amenities, electronics, and furnishings.
From the Hideaway, in one direction you may walk to the grocery store, post office, bank, restaurants, doctor's office and even to the fabulous free county operated open air heated Olympic size lap pool and kiddie pool. In the other direction, you may walk just a pinch under one mile to a large convenient public park with night-lit basketball and tennis courts, skateboard ramp, in-line skating rink, and children's play equipment. Adjacent to the park is a collection of small boutique restaurants, grocery store, bars with live music, movie theater and much more!
Moana Hideaway is laid out on one level, making it easy for movement impaired guests to enjoy.
A private chef is available for hire to grocery shop or to prepare and serve up to 3 meals per day. You may wish to consider the luxury of having a chef-prepared gourmet dinner served in-villa and al-fresco on your arrival evening! Ready to grill-yourself complete meals can be delivered, or fully cooked ready-to-eat dining including salads and snacks are additional options.

Reservations are accepted for visits through August 2006. Thereafter the property will be further improved with a swimming pool, in-ground spa, all new gardens and decking, built-in entertainment space, a grilling pavilion & bar, a circular driveway, and gated entry. Reservations for 2007 and onwards may be taken on a hold basis, to be confirmed by early 2007. Future rates after the property will be improved will be in the range of $1300-1500 per night plus taxes.
